Quaker Education
Moses Brown is a Quaker school. Quakerism holds that there is an Inner Light in each of us. This belief yields a deep commitment to equality and community, and people of all faiths find resonance in the core human values at the center of Friends (Quaker) education and practice.
Quaker Education
At Moses Brown, we create an academic culture of deep reflection, expansive curiosity, and spirited inquiry by applying Quaker values every day.
Learning in Community
Learning at Moses Brown is a shared enterprise. We ask and listen respectfully, grant grace in the process of learning, and delight in the growth of others.
Ambition for Greater Good
Every day, our students become people who are ambitious not only for themselves, but also for their neighbors and those they have yet to meet.

News From Our Community
Congratulations to upper school English teacher Abby Phyfe for being selected to receive the inaugural Outstanding Teacher of the Year award by the Disabled American Veterans Department of Rhode Island. This special award, presented on April 12, is a tribute to Abby’s care in developing a thoughtful course about the impacts of war in the context of our Quaker school and values.
First and seventh graders have been learning a great deal about water and how important it is to take care of this vital resource. Both classes have been doing parallel learning about water, so it made perfect sense for them to collaborate! Recently they joined together to take part in a fun hands-on activity: building water filtration systems.
On Thursday, April 18, Ross Gay, renowned poet, essayist, and orchardist, visited Moses Brown School to present his works to students during the school day as well as to the community in an open session to the public that same evening.
This winter, two MB senior visual artists were supported in further developing their art by engaging with inspiring artists and opportunities beyond the classroom.
